City Park | Skate Park | Water Park | Caboose Museum | Museum in the Community

The city's railroad history is still evident on History Row in the center of the city. Folks may find historical artifacts and railroad memorabilia in the restored "caboose museum" and view a bit of pre-history Hurricane, a 77" Indian Petroglyph which bears the image of the ancient "Water Monster's Daughter".

Proud of the past, residents are eager to share the rich colorful history of the community and how we got our name. It all began with a party of surveyors commissioned by General George Washington. Commemorating our history remains a "Special" ingredient in our town, even today. In olden days, when words were few and actions mattered, relationships were based on personal contact and integrity, not status. You'll find the town of Hurricane to be an easygoing, congenial place where making friends comes naturally.
