Hurricane Fire & Rescue proudly protects 10,000 people living in an area of
approximately 100 square miles. We operate out of one station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status,
supplemented by two paid Emergency Service Specialists from the City of
Hurricane. The Hurricane Fire & Rescue Team has an ISO rating of 6/8.
Hurricane Fire & Rescue provides the City of Hurricane and surrounding area with fire, rescue and ALS first responder services. The department is funded by a county-wide fire service fee, which is administered by the Putnam County Fire Service Board, and by the City of Hurricane. The department currently has members assigned to the Putnam County Fire Investigation Team and the Putnam County HazMat
Team. We are also developing an ATV Search and Rescue program.
Hurricane is located in Putnam County, WV. Putnam County is
the states fastest growing county in West Virginia.
